Executive Director

Cameron Keith Walls is an arts executive, educator, performing artist, and civic leader whose work is rooted in the intersection of community, the arts, and education. As Executive Director of the Nashville Civic Orchestra, he brings a multidisciplinary career spanning the entertainment industry, higher education, organizational leadership, and community engagement.

A native of Peoria, Illinois, Walls was truly raised by a village, but reared by his grandmother, a librarian and devoted civic leader who served both her public housing community and the broader Peoria community. Through her example and the support of his community, he learned early that access to education, culture, and community resources can transform lives. Her influence continues to shape his belief that the arts are not simply entertainment, but powerful vehicles for education, connection, opportunity, and civic engagement.

With a career spanning more than three decades, Walls is an accomplished performing artist, songwriter, session vocalist, vocal producer, event producer, and actor across theatre, television, and film. His notable credits include serving as a founding member of the W. Crimm Singers, Executive Project Manager with DulaneyLand Music, and Events Production Manager for QuaverEd, as well as providing backing vocals for the ELVIS motion picture soundtrack, which was Grammy and Oscar nominated, and Tennessee State University’s Grammy Award-winning The Urban Hymnal. His commitment to music and industry leadership extends beyond the stage: Walls has served as Deputy Province Governor for Province 15 of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, his beloved music fraternity, and most recently was named Member of the First Quarter by S.O.L.I.D. (Society of Leaders in Development) during his inaugural year of membership.

Walls has spent the past seven years in higher education as a Mass Communication professor, Residence Hall Director, and collegiate advisor. He holds degrees from Tennessee State University and Lipscomb University and is completing his Doctor of Education in Higher Educational Leadership at Trevecca Nazarene University. His leadership of the Nashville Civic Orchestra brings together his experience as an artist, educator, administrator, mentor, and civic leader—building community through music, expanding access to the arts, and strengthening Nashville’s cultural ecosystem.
